Patrick Oakford
Senior Fellow
Patrick Oakford is a Senior Fellow of the Budget Lab. He has spent his career working in government and the nonprofit sector focused on labor and economic policy. Previously he served as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S. Department of Labor, Policy Advisor in the Department's Office of the Chief Economist, Senior Policy Advisor in the Executive Chamber of the Governor of New York, and conducted research at the Center for American Progress and with the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality, among other organizations. His research has been covered by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, PBS, and NPR, among other outlets. He received a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a M.Sc. in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford.
