Innovating U.S. Economic Policy Analysis

The Budget Lab at Yale is a non-partisan policy research center that provides in-depth analysis of federal policy proposals for the American economy. Our focus extends beyond estimating the financial and macroeconomic impacts of proposed policies, to exploring their effects on income distribution. Critical policy discussions are often dominated by cost estimates, and we understand the need for a more comprehensive approach. Whether it's the child tax credit, tax cuts, paid family leave, deficit reduction, or universal pre-K, policymakers today lack the integrated approach needed to make informed choices.

The Budget Lab will bridge that gap.
