Abhi Gupta is the Associate Director of Macroeconomic Analysis at the Budget Lab. He is an applied macroeconomist whose research focuses on the interaction of economic policy and business cycles. He previously served as an economist focusing on macroeconomics and trade at the Office of Management and Budget and a research analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He holds a B.S. in mathematics, economics, and statistics from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
